Dubai NRIs urged to invest in Telangana's 8.2% growth story
Hyderabad: In a powerful pitch to Gulf-based entrepreneurs and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Telangana’s Minister for IT and Industries, D. Sridhar Babu, presented the state as a premier investment destination, highlighting its disproportionate contribution to India’s economy and its record-breaking growth.
Despite ranking 11th in geographical size and 12th in population, it contributes more than 5% to the national GDP. The Minister revealed that for the fiscal year 2024-25, Telangana achieved an impressive Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) growth rate of 8.2%, outstripping the national average.
Telangana Minister for IT and Industries, D. Sridhar Babu, was participating in the South Indian Business Achievers Awards (SIBA), which was being held as part of the South Indian International Weekend, Dubai 2025. The Minister highlighted Telangana’s rapid economic strides and its emergence as a national leader in industrial development. “Over the past 18 months, Telangana has attracted investments worth Rs 3.28 lakh crore across sectors such as life sciences, electric vehicles, aerospace, logistics, artificial intelligence, and renewable energy,” boasted Sridhar Babu.
Sridhar Babu presented the state government as a dedicated partner. He assured that global investors would be seen as key stakeholders in Telangana’s growth, not just as businesses. Global corporations, including Eli Lilly and other multinational firms, have chosen Telangana as their investment destination. UAE investors alone have committed more than Rs 2,000 crore, reflecting the strengthening trade and investment ties between Telangana and Dubai.
“Telangana is offering opportunities in artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, cybersecurity, fintech, digital economy, smart mobility, clean energy, life sciences, logistics, warehousing, trade infrastructure, food processing, EVs, aerospace, and defence manufacturing," said D. Sridha Babu in his address.
He assured that the State government would provide all needed support for investments. He also invited global entrepreneurs to work with Telangana in building its industrial and innovation-led future.
