Drug bust: Hydroponic weed found concealed in passenger's bag at RGIA

Hyderabad: Air intelligence officials at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) caught a male passenger from Bangkok on Wednesday. They seized hydroponic weed valued at Rs 14 crores. 

According to the Air Intelligence officials, based on specific intelligence, one lady passenger coming from Bangkok was intercepted at the green channel of the International Arrival Hall, RGIA, Hyderabad.

“When questioning and examination of the baggage carried by the passenger, hydroponic weeds weighing in 13.9 kilograms (gross weight) valued at around Rs 14 Crores(approx.) was found concealed in a check-in bag," added the statement released by the central agency. 

Subsequently, the Air Intelligence officials said, the passenger was arrested under the NDPS Act, 1985 and remanded to judicial custody. Further, investigation is in progress.
