Drainage overflow on Urdu University Road causes hardship for residents, students
Hyderabad: Residents and students have raised concerns over persistent drainage overflow on Urdu University Road in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. The issue is making it difficult for pedestrians, particularly staff from the nearby Bank of Baroda and students of Maulana Azad National Urdu University.
The problem has worsened with the onset of the monsoon, raising fears of potential health hazards due to stagnant water and poor sanitation.
The issue was highlighted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by user @Devilnation0, who tagged the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in a post that read, “@GHMCOnline Drainage is overflowing on Urdu University Rd, making it tough for pedestrians—especially Bank of Baroda staff & Urdu Univ students. Responding to the post, the official handle of Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) replied, “Good Afternoon sir., Please provide the exact location name, nearest landmark or door number and your contact number to register a complaint.”
