Drainage overflow near Masjid Saleem Khatoon causes inconvenience to devotees in Himayatnagar
Hyderabad: Residents and devotees in Himayatnagar are facing significant inconvenience due to persistent drainage overflow near Masjid Saleem Khatoon on Himayatnagar Main Road. The situation has worsened during the month of Ramzan, with Muslim devotees struggling to pass through the area due to foul odors and standing wastewater.
Local residents are urging the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) to address the issue promptly to alleviate the difficulties faced by worshippers.
The issue was brought to light on social media by Keshaboina Sridhar (@keshaboinasri), who posted, “Persistent drainage overflow near Masjid Saleem Khatoon on Himayatnagar Main Road is causing inconvenience to worshippers due to foul odors. Another citizen, Blacky (@jaihindwala), expressed hope that GHMC would resolve the problem soon.
Video footage shared online shows worshippers struggling to cross the area, with some lifting their children to avoid walking through the overflowing drainage. The situation has raised concerns over public health and hygiene, especially during the ongoing Ramzan prayers.
