Hyderabad: Days after Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) carried out demolitions on encroached lands in Hafeezpet and Madhapur linked to a real estate firm owned by Mylavaram Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad, the TDP leader approached the Telangana High Court against the agency on Monday.

In a petition filed before the court, the Mylavaram MLA alleged that the HYDRAA has illegally seized his land in Hafeezpet. He also said the officials carried out the demolition exercise on his property during holidays without providing any prior notice or information.
Krishna Prasad claims that HYDRAA put up a fencing around the property and took possession of the land. He has accused the agency of acting in a manner that damages his personal reputation and has requested the court to direct HYDRAA to pay compensation for the demolished structures and other damages.

Mylavaram MLA said that he will meet with the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy upon his return from abroad. "I have confidence that the Chief Minister will ensure justice for me," he said.
On April 19, HYDRAA officials cleared illegal encroachments on about 20 acres of disputed Paigah lands in Hafeezpet and Madhapur, reclaiming land valued at hundreds of crores.

In Hafeezpet (Kondapur area), Serilingampally Municipality, encroachments were identified on 39.2 acres of government land listed under Survey Number 79. More than half of the land had been occupied by construction companies, despite an ongoing legal dispute.

According to revenue records, the land is officially classified as government property and is listed under the prohibited lands category. However, Vasantha Homes, a real estate firm owned by Mylavaram TDP MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad, allegedly manipulated land records by generating a new survey number, 79/1, and proceeded with unauthorised construction. The real estate firm occupied 19 acres, built and sold houses, and developed office buildings and sheds on the remaining land.
