In both cases, electrical short circuits in air conditioner units were identified as the cause of the fires. Residents immediately placed emergency calls through the Dial-112 number, which serves as a single point of contact for all emergencies in Telangana.

Dial-112 integrates multiple emergency services, including Police (100), Fire (101), Ambulance (108), Women’s Safety (181), Child Protection (1098), and Disaster Management (1077). The Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGiCCC), based in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, received the distress calls and activated a multi-agency response without delay.

The Bachupally Police Station and Karimnagar II Town Police Station coordinated with their respective Fire Departments to dispatch emergency teams. Both teams reached the affected sites within minutes of the alerts.

During the Hyderabad incident, a resident, overwhelmed by panic, jumped from the second floor and sustained injuries. The individual was immediately shifted to the hospital for treatment. All other residents were safely evacuated from the building. In Karimnagar, emergency responders successfully evacuated all occupants without any reported injuries.

Officials highlighted that the integrated response mechanism of Dial-112 was crucial in controlling the fires and preventing loss of life and property. The Telangana Police urged citizens to remain vigilant about electrical safety, especially in maintaining air conditioners, geysers, and other household electrical appliances. They also warned against overloading electrical circuits, which could lead to such hazardous situations.

The Director of TGiCCC urged the importance of regular maintenance of electrical equipment and appealed to the public to report emergencies promptly by calling Dial-112. The police stressed that quick action through this centralized emergency system can significantly reduce the impact of accidents and save lives.
