Panic grips devotees after Muslim man started praying at Nagole temple
Hyderabad: Panic gripped the devotees at the Chandi Ammavari temple in Dhanalakshmi Nagar, Nagole, Secunderabad, after a young Muslim man was found offering prayers at a temple in Nagole on Tuesday.
The Ayyappa devotees had arranged an Ayyappa Sannidhanam at the temple premises. In the morning, a Muslim man, accompanied by a person wearing traditional Ayyappa Swami attire and mala, entered the temple and started praying while standing in the middle of the premises.
After noticing a Muslim man offering prayers, the Ayyappa devotees present objected to his presence and raised concerns about his religious identity. They also doubted the identity of the accompanying man, who was not seemingly Hindu.
Following the incident, Ayyappa devotees approached the police and filed a formal complaint with the Nagole police station. They claimed that devotees tried to pull the man away from the temple but he did not budge. They demanded the police officials to investigate if the 'suspects were doing a recce of the temple. Meanwhile, the authorities are currently looking into the matter.
