Makers announce sequel as Devara completes one year

HYDERABAD: Devara, which emerged as a major box-office success last year, has completed its first anniversary. Marking the occasion, the makers announced its sequel, Devara 2, ending months of speculation.

Director Koratala Siva had hinted at a sequel in the climax of the first film, but doubts persisted over whether the project would go ahead. The official confirmation came on Saturday, when the production house released a poster with the message: “Devara is a name the world will never forget. The love he gave and the fear he inspired will remain forever. Be ready for Devara 2.”

Actor NTR, who headlined Devara, is currently working on a film with Prashanth Neel. He is also scheduled to collaborate with Trivikram Srinivas and Nelson Dilipkumar. With Devara 2 now added to his line-up, industry watchers are keen to see which of these projects will go on floors first.
