It is a known fact that the Telugu actor filed the case against the Congress leader Konda Surekha after she made controversial comments regarding the divorce of Tollywood actors while targeting the BRS working president KT Rama Rao.

In his legal complaint, Nagarjuna highlighted his family’s respected status in the Indian film industry, emphasizing their nearly 40-year legacy and over 90 films across various languages. Despite the couple’s divorce in 2021, which resulted from personal differences, Nagarjuna noted that actors have maintained a dignified public image.

Nagarjuna expressed shock at seeing clips of Surekha’s controversial comments circulated widely on social media. He argued that these baseless claims aimed to tarnish his family’s reputation for political gain. The allegations prompted numerous inquiries from friends and colleagues, leading Nagarjuna to issue a public statement condemning Surekha’s remarks.

Surekha’s allegations against the Akkineni family sparked outrage from the Telugu film industry. Several Tollywood bigwigs including mega star Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun, Nani, Mahesh Babu, Jr. NTR, Venkatesh Daggubati, Ram Charan, Prabhas, Sudheer Babu, Manchu Vishnu, Manchu Lakshmi, Varun Tej Konidela, Lavanya Konidela Tripathi, director Ram Gopal Varma, Akkineni Amala, Akhil Akkineni and Sushanth strongly condemned her comments.
