Fauzia Begum, the owner of the cat, accused the veterinary staff of negligence after her pet died shortly after receiving treatment at the Government Veterinary Hospital in Chevella. According to Fauzia Begum, her cat had not eaten for two days before she brought it to the hospital. After being given an injection and some medication, the cat was sent home.

However, upon arriving back at her residence, the cat’s condition worsened, and it collapsed. The animal was rushed back to the hospital, where it died while undergoing further treatment.

Fauzia Begum, along with her son Akbar, subsequently had an altercation with the veterinary staff, accusing them of mishandling the case. They filed a complaint with the police, demanding justice for the loss of their pet.

Dr. Tirupati Reddy, the veterinary doctor at the hospital, stated that the medical staff had tried their best to treat the cat, which had been in poor health. He explained that Devender Nattala, a contract worker at the hospital, had administered fever medication and other treatments. Despite their efforts, the cat’s condition deteriorated, and it died during subsequent care.

In response, Devender Nattala filed a counter-complaint, alleging that he was assaulted by Fauzia Begum and Akbar during the incident. Both complaints are now under investigation by the police.

Joint Director, Vijay Kumar, has ordered an inquiry into the incident. The cat’s body has been preserved for an autopsy, which is scheduled for Wednesday, January 8. Vijay Kumar stated that the investigation will determine whether the staff were negligent and, if so, appropriate departmental action will be taken.
