During the inspection, DCA officials discovered 14 varieties of medicines stocked at the clinic, including potent steroids like Dexamethasone and various analgesics. The misuse of such steroids is known to pose serious health hazards such as immune system suppression, hormonal imbalance, cardiovascular complications, and psychological disorders.

The raid was executed by Smt. R. Srilatha, Drugs Inspector, Nizamabad Rural, under the supervision of Sri. N. Narasiah, Assistant Director, Nizamabad. Samples of the seized drugs have been sent for analysis, and further investigation is underway. Legal action will be initiated against all individuals involved as per the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.

Since January 2024, the DCA Telangana has registered cases against 164 quacks for similar violations involving the illegal stocking and sale of medicines.

In a strong advisory, the DCA has warned wholesalers and dealers against supplying medicines to unauthorized and unqualified individuals. It emphasized that medicines must only be supplied to establishments holding valid drug licenses. Non-compliance will attract strict penal action, including imprisonment of up to five years.

The public is urged to report any illegal drug-related activities, including manufacturing or distribution, by calling the DCA’s toll-free helpline at 1800-599-6969, operational from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm on working days.
