Jeedimetla matricide solved in 24 hours, juveniles arrested
Hyderabad: The Jeedimetla Police have apprehended the accused involved in the premeditated murder of a 39-year-old woman allegedly strangled by her 16-year-old daughter and the latter’s boyfriend.
The deceased was identified as Satla Anjali, aged 39 years, resident of New LB Nagar, Shapurnagar, Cyberabad. “The crime was orchestrated and executed by her own daughter, a juvenile Child in Conflict with Law, in collusion with her paramour Pagilla Shiva Kumar and another juvenile CCL-2,” revealed K. Suresh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Balanagar Zone, adding that the police team cracked the case with meticulous investigation and swift action, ensuring that the culprits were apprehended within 24 hours of the complaint.
On Tuesday at 01:55 hours, Thangellapally Shobha, from Gundlapochampally in Medchal-Malkajgiri District, filed a complaint. She reported that her younger sister, Satla Anjali, was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her home in New LB Nagar, Shapurnagar. The body was found lying in a supine position in the kitchen with ligature marks around the neck, indicating strangulation.
“Preliminary inquiry with the deceased's younger daughter revealed facts, the deceased's elder daughter, aged 16 years, had been in a relationship with Pagilla Shiva Kumar (DJ Operator), which the deceased opposed. This led to frequent quarrels and warnings, resulting in the juvenile conspiring with Shiva Kumar and CCL-2 to eliminate her mother," said DCP Balanagar.
On the evening of 23 June 2025, the deceased's minor daughter strategically sent her younger sister out and called her paramour Shiva Kumar and CCL-2 into the house. The accused strangulated the deceased using a white nylon chunni and inflicted a head injury to ensure death. CCL-1, after the murder, locked the house and warned her younger sister not to speak. However, the child alerted her aunt, the complainant, leading to the discovery of the crime.
Investigation
The investigation revealed that the murder was pre-planned and motivated by the victim’s opposition to her daughter’s relationship. The Scene of Offence was thoroughly examined by the Clues Team from Balanagar Division. Forensic samples were collected, and the Crime Scene was documented photographically. The body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for autopsy, which confirmed death due to strangulation.
