Cyberabad Police advise IT firms to opt for work from home amid rain alert
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police have issued an advisory requesting IT companies in the region to allow employees to work from home today, July 23, 2025, citing safety concerns and expected traffic congestion due to persistent rainfall.
In a statement, the Joint Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, said the advisory was issued to ensure public safety, minimize disruption to emergency services, and maintain productivity. “Companies may consider following Work from Home (WFH) mode on July 23, 2025 (Wednesday). We appreciate your understanding and cooperation,” he said.
The advisory comes amid continuous rainfall in Hyderabad, with light but steady showers expected to continue over the next few hours. Local weather updates report daytime temperatures ranging between 24°C and 26°C, significantly cooler than usual for this time of year.

Several districts across Telangana have reported heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours. In Mulugu district, Venkatapuram recorded 255 mm, Eturunagaram 184.5 mm, and Mangapet 158.8 mm. Other affected areas include Bheemadevarapalle in Hanumakonda and Kothaguda in Mahabubabad.
Data from the Telangana State Development Planning Society shows rainfall totals between 70 mm and 250 mm across various locations from 8:30 a.m. on July 22 to 8:00 a.m. today.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rain in several northern and eastern districts, including Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Peddapalli, Nizamabad, Jagitial, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, and Bhadradri Kothagudem.
A yellow alert is in place for isolated heavy rain in Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy. Thunderstorms with lightning and winds of 30–40 km/h are also expected across the state. The forecast for July 24 indicates continued light to moderate rain or thundershowers across most parts of Telangana.
