The bursting of fireworks is permitted for two hours from 8 pm to 10 pm, however, the noise level from crackers, drums and other instruments should not exceed the permissible limits as specified by Pollution Control Board.

The notification also stated that the order shall remain in force from 6 am on Thursday to 6 am on Saturday. If anyone found violating the order will be liable for prosecution under the Hyderabad City Police Act and other relevant law in force, it added.

Earlier, Hyderabad city police issued a similar advisory urging people to avoid bursting high-sounding crackers in public places and roads during the festival. Explaining the reason for such a ban, DCP (North) S. Rashmi Perumal said the decision follows a number of noise pollution complaints received on the police's dial 100 helpline.
