Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police’s Cybercrime Wing has detected 11 cases and arrested 15 offenders from multiple states in the last week. The operation revealed a large network of cybercriminals. They were involved in trading frauds, gaming scams, and business frauds. Most of them were connected to misleading investment schemes.

During the period from July 29 to August 4, 2025, authorities busted 15 cybercrime cases, with most related to trading fraud, where they detected 9 cases and arrested 12 offenders. They also identified one case each of gaming and business fraud, resulting in the arrest of two and one offenders respectively. Further, police have seized items including 14 mobile phones, 8 debit cards, 13 SIM cards, Aadhaar and PAN cards, and 4 proprietorship stamps—indicating the use of fake identities for Financial crimes.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Cybercrime), Cyberabad, emphasized that cybercriminals are increasingly operating across state lines, using fake identities and SIM cards. "This crackdown is a warning to fraudsters, but public vigilance is crucial," the DCP stated.

Public Advisory: How to Stay Safe

With cybercrimes on the rise, the police advise citizens to stay informed and report suspicious activities promptly.

The Cyberabad Police warned citizens to be cautious of "get-rich-quick" schemes that promise unrealistic returns. They advised not to share OTPs, Aadhaar, or bank details with unknown callers or messages. Always verify financial requests directly with banks before sending money. Block and report suspicious numbers asking for urgent payments. Also, avoid clicking on links from WhatsApp, Telegram, or emails unless verified. Report any cybercrimes right away by calling 1930.
