Arrest of five in online gaming fraud case in Cyberabad

HYDERABAD: The Cyber Crime Police of Cyberabad, in coordination with the Special Operations Team, arrested five persons for allegedly aiding a cyber gang that cheated victims through fake online gaming platforms.

Police identified the arrested as Doppalapudi Naveen Kumar, Vankadri Sandeep Kumar, Chintalapati Prudhvi Ramaraju, Chintalapati Pavan Venkata Naga Bharadwaj, and Mamidisetti Ramanjaneyulu.

Investigators said the accused supplied over 120 bank accounts and multiple SIM cards to the gang, which lured victims through manipulated gaming apps showing fake profits. The funds were channelled through the portal Dodge book777, hosted on the Supago website, under the direction of one Sathyanarayana Verma.

Preliminary investigation revealed transactions worth about ₹14 lakh in the identified accounts, which are being seized. The total extent of the fraud is yet to be ascertained.

Police seize gadgets, bank materials

During the operation, police seized two laptops, 30 mobile phones, 32 cheque books, 23 ATM cards, and 48 SIM cards from the accused.

DCP (Cyber Crimes) B Sai Sri said citizens must stay alert and avoid sharing OTPs, PINs or banking details. “People should refrain from using or investing in unauthorised online gaming and betting platforms,” she said.

The case (Cr No. 2473/2025) has been booked under Sections 2(37), 318(4), 336(3), 338, 340(2) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 66-C and 66-D of the Information Technology Act, 2000–2008.

Inspector G Vijay Kumar of Cyber Crimes Police Station is investigating the case under the supervision of ACP A Ravindra Reddy, Cyber Crimes, Cyberabad.
