Two held in Cyberabad with ₹7.5 lakh worth cocaine; one absconding
HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad police on October 8 arrested two alleged drug peddlers near Manchirevula under Narsingi police station limits and seized 107.4 grams of cocaine valued at ₹7.5 lakh.
Two arrested, one absconding in drug case
The accused were identified as Siram Ananth Kumar (50) and Peruru Veerababu (32). A third suspect, Karthikeya Shekar, who allegedly supplied the contraband from Mumbai, is absconding.
Acting on credible information, officers from the EAGLE team and Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB), along with Narsingi police, intercepted the two accused near Manchirevula. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Inspector Ch Hari Krishna Reddy of Narsingi police station and TGANB Inspectors Ramesh Reddy and Gopi.
Cocaine sourced from Mumbai
Police said Ananth Kumar, a habitual cocaine user since 2017, confessed to purchasing the drug from Shekar in Mumbai and selling it in Hyderabad. Veerababu allegedly assisted him in deliveries.
The seized property includes 107.4 grams of cocaine and two mobile phones, all valued at ₹7.5 lakh.
Case registered under NDPS Act
A case has been registered at Narsingi police station under Crime No. 1945/2025, for offences punishable under Sections 8(c) read with 22(c), 27A, and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Police appeal for public cooperation
The Cyberabad police urged citizens to report information related to drug trafficking through Dial 100 or WhatsApp at 9490617444, assuring that the identity of informants would be kept confidential.
