Congress MLC has been given a week’s time (till February 12, 2025) to explain his actions, failing which the committee will initiate a “stern action” against him.

A copy of the notice was also marked to All India Congress Committee to take necessary action against Mallanna who was elected as Member of Legislative Council from the Graduate constituency of Warangal, Khammam and Nalgonda.

While attending an event organised by the BC Sangam as a chief guest, Mallanna claimed that Congress had insulted the community, so they should pour urine on the report and burn it. He had also reportedly made derogatory remarks against the Reddy community.

The whole episode was shown live on TV channels. He picked holes in the caste census report and claimed that the survey data was manipulated to protect the interests of economically weaker sections (EWS) while reducing the reservation of the backward classes.

Condemning Mallanna’s remarks, the Telangana Reddy Joint Action Council demanded the MLA to resign from his post. The female members of the community had lodged a complaint against the MLC in the Uppal police station and demanded him to tender an unconditional apology to the Reddy community.
