This incident follows similar food safety violations in Hyderabad, with customers raising concerns about food contamination in other eateries. Recently, a man discovered a cockroach in a juice glass ordered through Swiggy from Gourmet Shawarma. The man shared the incident on social media, urging the authorities to take action. In response, GHMC acknowledged the issue and assured the public that the Food Safety team had been alerted.
This pattern of food safety violations has raised concern among residents. In October 2024, a customer found a lizard in his noodles at Ganesh Fast Food and Biryani Point in Secunderabad. Despite confronting the management, the response was reportedly dismissive, prompting the customer to file a complaint with GHMC.
Other incidents include customers finding cockroaches in food at restaurants like Sri Raghavendra Hotel, Meridian Restaurant, and Bahar Cafe, with reports of rats roaming freely in some establishments.
