Cocaine seized, three including US citizen arrested in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Excise officials seized 33.3 grams of cocaine and arrested three persons along with an Innova Crysta near Vardhaman Bank, Ramkoti, under Narayanaguda Excise Station limits. The action was taken on the basis of reliable information regarding illegal possession and transportation of the drug. Four mobile phones and the vehicle used for transport were also seized. A case has been registered against four accused, including one supplier from Bangalore who is absconding.

Accused and Investigation

The arrested persons were identified as Misbahuddin Khan, 35, of Ramkote; Ali Asgar Gulabi, 28, of Banjara Hills; and Zubair Ali, 35, a US citizen residing in Banjara Hills. The absconding accused is Mohammed Azeem of Bangalore, alleged supplier of the cocaine. Officials said the accused purchased cocaine from Bangalore at ₹9,000 per gram and brought it to Hyderabad. Zubair Ali accompanied them and provided his vehicle for transportation.

The contraband, vehicle, and accused were handed over to the Narayanaguda Prohibition and Excise Station for further investigation. The raids were carried out under the supervision of N Anjireddy, Excise Superintendent STF, with CI MPR Chandrasekhar, SI Bharatkumar, and STF A team staff.
