Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy held a review meeting with senior officials to assess the city’s preparedness ahead of the monsoon season. He directed that Monsoon Emergency Teams remain on standby round-the-clock to respond to any rain-related incidents.
The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of constructing water harvesting wells at 141 identified water-logging points across Hyderabad. He instructed officials to install automatic pumps at these sites to ensure rainwater can be quickly pumped out.
Stressing the importance of proactive planning, the Chief Minister asked departments to follow the guidelines of the Meteorological Department. He directed the establishment of a monitoring system at the Command Control Center to track rainfall and potential flooding.

He called for the swift completion of desilting work in stormwater drains and ordered officials to identify vulnerable areas and prepare preventive action plans. Special focus, he said, should be given to the Core Urban Region within the Outer Ring Road. The Chief Minister also suggested considering a special policy for the development and expansion of lakes, stormwater drains, and roads in the Core Urban Region.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary A. Ramakrishna Rao, CMO officials Sheshadri and Manik Raj, GHMC Commissioner, HYDRAA Commissioner Ranganath, HMDA officials, and others.
