Cigarette stub found in biryani at Hyderabad's famous restaurant
Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a customer discovered a cigarette stub in his biryani at the city's well-known Bawarchi Hotel on RTC Cross Road. The incident has infuriated the patrons who confronted the hotel management over the alleged negligence of food safety.
A video showing the altercation between the customers and the hotel staff has since gone viral on social media. Just a week ago, a boy fell ill after eating chicken biryani at Green Bawarchi in Neredmet. He complained of severe stomach ache and started vomiting. He was admitted to the government hospital for treatment.
Recently, the Biryani capital has been hit by a series of food safety issues, both at the restaurant and online food order levels. Food safety officials have been conducting inspections at various restaurants in the city and taking action against those found violating the food safety and hygiene guidelines.
