Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force of Hyderabad City Police has taken strict action against the illegal sale of Chinese Manja, a banned synthetic kite string. In the latest enforcement drive, 107 cases were booked, with 148 individuals apprehended for dealing in Chinese Manja. A total of 7,334 bobbins, valued at approximately Rs. 88 lakh, were seized.

The crackdown, which spanned across multiple zones from October 2024 to January 2025, was led by DCP YVS Sudeendra and Addl. DCP Ande Srinivasa Rao. The operation significantly reduced the availability of Chinese Manja, which had previously caused harm to both humans and wildlife. No major incidents involving Chinese Manja have been reported since the enforcement began.
