This performance not only led her team to victory but also set a new benchmark for women’s cricket. Chetna now holds the record for the highest individual score on debut in women’s One Day Internationals, breaking a 51-year-old record.

At just 16 years old, Chetna became the second-youngest player to score a century in women’s ODIs, following in the footsteps of Ireland’s Amy Hunter. Her score of 136 is also the highest-ever score by a USA Women’s player in any format of international cricket.

Chetna’s journey into cricket began in 2016 when she switched from tennis to cricket, encouraged by her older brother, Pranav. She is currently a junior at Beckman High School in Irvine, California, and resides in Tustin. Her parents, Venkat and Pushpa Pagydyala, are originally from Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh, India.
