Chemical-laden auto catches fire near LB Nagar, sparks traffic disruption
Hyderabad: A chemical-loaded auto caught fire near the LB Nagar Commissioner of Police Camp Office on Saturday afternoon, July 12, 2025, triggering massive flames and bringing traffic to a standstill in the area.
After learning the incident, firefighters reached the spot promptly and managed to douse the fire before it could spread further. No casualties were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
This is the latest in a string of fire-related incidents reported across Hyderabad in recent days. On Friday night, a fire broke out at Bilal Hardware Shop on Kalapather Road. The incident occurred around midnight. Residents nearby noticed the blaze and attempted to put it out before a fire tender from Chandulal Baradari arrived and extinguished it. Officials suspect an electrical short circuit as the possible cause. No injuries were reported.
In the early hours of Thursday, a major fire engulfed the Tirupati Rubber Company in Netaji Nagar, located in the Katedan Industrial Area. The factory, which produces car mats and rubber goods, emitted thick smoke visible from a distance. Two fire engines, along with teams from the Mailardevpally police and the Disaster Response Force (DRF), responded and brought the flames under control after several hours of effort. No casualties were reported.
On July 3, a fire broke out in the kitchen of a Café Coffee Day outlet located inside the Krish Inn Hotel near the SR Nagar Traffic Police Station. Emergency services launched a swift rescue operation after reports of people trapped on the upper floors. All individuals were safely evacuated. No injuries were confirmed.
The same day, a car caught fire shortly after refueling at a BPCL fuel station near the Mailardevpally Police Station. Quick action by fuel station staff helped contain the blaze, and no one was hurt.
Also on Thursday, a refrigerator explosion triggered a fire at a residence in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Sanathnagar. A loud blast was heard before smoke and flames were seen coming from the house. Firefighters and DRF personnel responded and brought the situation under control. Officials suspect a compressor explosion. No injuries were reported. The recent incidents have prompted concerns over fire safety across both residential and commercial zones in the city.
