Two-year wait for manjeera pipeline road repairs continues in Chandanagar, Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Residents of Chandanagar, Hyderabad have been facing difficulties for the past two years due to the poor condition of the Manjeera pipeline road. The stretch, which starts from the Hafeezpet flyover side and ends near the RC Puram police station in Lingampally, has been dug up for pipeline work but left unrepaired.
Vivek Shenoy, a resident of the area, highlighted the issue on social media ‘X,’ previously known as Twitter, tagging relevant officials. He described the road as being in a "pathetic condition" and dangerous, especially during the rainy season.
Vivek Shenoy said that the authorities seem to be neglecting the area despite its dense population. He added that accidents and people falling into potholes have become routine occurrences, and the muddy road surface after rains poses a significant risk to two-wheeler riders.
He further said that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has consistently claimed that the issue should be resolved by the water board authorities, leading to a dead end in resolving the issue. He suggested that a lack of funds might also be a factor.
An Assistant Engineer from Hafeezpet responded to the social media post of Vivek Shenoy, acknowledging the inconvenience caused and clarifying that the road is under the maintenance of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) transmission department. The department had laid new water pipelines and would be undertaking the restoration work.
Speaking to the Hyderabad Mail, Vivek Shenoy expressed his disappointment with the poor road condition. He said that the road has been dug up for at least two years, with the condition deteriorating day by day due to the formation of large craters.
Dear citizen your inconvenience regerted the above road under maintenance of HMWSSB transmission department and the HMWSSB department laid New water pipe line and the same department will takeup the restoration work thank you.

Vivek highlighted the daily struggles faced by residents of Chandanagar, school children attending Kallam Anji Reddy Vidyalaya, and numerous business establishments in the area due to the poor road condition. He himself has been forced to take an alternate route to reach his office due to the poor condition of the Manjeera pipeline road.
Residents and commuters of Chandanagar are urging both the GHMC and the HMWSSB to take immediate action and lay new roads to address the long-standing issue.
