Chandanagar heist gone wrong: Robbers open fire, flee empty-handed

Hyderabad: In a daylight botched robbery attempt, robbers targeted Khazana Jewellery shop in Chandanagar on Tuesday. The armed thieves opened fire and stormed the premises shortly after opening hours.

The gang, armed with guns, went on a rampage, firing multiple rounds and injuring the deputy manager before fleeing towards Zaheerabad. However, they were unsuccessful in their robbery attempt.

According to the Chandanagar police, the robbery attempt unfolded at around 10:30 Am on Tuesday morning. The 3-4 assailants fired two rounds upon entering the shop and deliberately shot at CCTV cameras to avoid identification. In the chaos, one bullet struck the deputy manager’s leg, leaving him injured. However, the gang was unsuccessful in their attempt to rob the store and escaped before the police could intervene.

Police launch manhunt

Cyberabad Commissioner of Police has formed special teams to track down the robbers. Telangana police have alerted district borders and intensified checks along escape routes, particularly towards Zaheerabad. Further investigation is underway as police scour CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts to identify the culprits.
