Fire breaks out at Centro Shopping Complex in Chandanagar

Hyderabad: A major fire broke out at the Centro Shopping Complex in Gangaram, Chandanagar, on Friday, May 9, 2025, causing widespread panic and extensive damage.

The fire reportedly began due to a short circuit in a signage board. This is not the first fire incident at the shopping complex; a similar blaze had occurred around a year ago, causing significant property damage. After the previous incident, the management had renovated the complex and resumed operations.

The recent fire has raised concerns over the safety measures in place. The incident caused severe traffic congestion and widespread panic among the public. Further details are awaited.

In an earlier incident, a fire broke out at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Banjara Hills on April 14, 2025. The fire started on the first floor but was quickly contained by fire department personnel.

Visuals from the scene showed thick smoke coming from the hotel’s first floor. Though the exact cause is still under investigation, unconfirmed reports suggest the fire may have been linked to the electrical wiring system.

At the time of the fire, players and officials from the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) team were staying on the sixth floor. The hotel evacuated them to safety along with other guests as a precaution.
