Overspeeding car flips near CBIT College; No injuries reported
Hyderabad: A car overturned near CBIT College on Friday afternoon, July 4, 2025, after the driver lost control due to overspeeding.
According to the reports, the vehicle, was headed towards the nursing college when the driver suddenly applied brakes, causing it to skid and flip over. The incident created panic among passersby and students in the area, many of whom witnessed the car overturning in front of them.
Fortunately, all the occupants escaped without injuries. Local residents and bystanders rushed to the scene and helped the occupants come out of the overturned vehicle. Their timely response ensured that no one remained trapped or seriously hurt.
The accident briefly disrupted traffic in the area. Police arrived at the spot shortly after and cleared the scene. Authorities are investigating the cause of the mishap.
In a separate incident, a Sub-Inspector of Police died in a road accident on National Highway 65 at Cheriyal in Kandi mandal early Thursday morning. The deceased, Rajeshwar (59), a resident of Chanikyapuri Colony in Sangareddy, was serving at Film Nagar Police Station in Hyderabad. He had been posted there just a week ago.
Rajeshwar was returning home after duty at the Balkampet Bonalu Utsavalu when a speeding lorry rammed into his car. He was rushed to a private hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. He had joined the police force as a constable in 1990 and is survived by his wife and two children. His body was moved to the Sangareddy government hospital for postmortem. A case has been registered.
Earlier, on June 21, a 10-year-old boy died in a road accident in Allwyn Colony under Jagathgirigutta Police Station limits in Medchal district. The child, identified as Jayashith Chauhan, was riding his bicycle near his home when he reportedly lost balance and fell onto the road.
A school bus arriving to pick up students ran over him. He sustained critical injuries and was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. The bus driver has been taken into custody. Police are reviewing CCTV footage as part of the investigation. The boy’s body was sent for postmortem.
In another incident, one person died and another was injured in a crash on the Outer Ring Road under Ghatkesar Police Station limits in Medchal district. A Bolero vehicle traveling from Gandipet to LB Nagar suffered a rear tire blowout, hit a divider, and overturned. One passenger, identified as Ravi from Odisha, died in the accident. Another occupant was seriously injured and taken to Gandhi Hospital for treatment. A case has been registered, and police are investigating the cause of the crash.
