According to sources, Sood complained of ill health and was immediately rushed to the hospital by his staff. The incident occurred during a scheduled visit to Telangana. Doctors at the corporate hospital have stated that the CBI Director's health is now stable and he is undergoing necessary treatment.
It is to be noted that Sood reached Hyderabad on Friday evening and then left for Srisailam, where he had a darshan at the Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple on Saturday morning before returning to the city. Reportedly, on his return, he complained of illness.
Since his admission, several high-ranking police officers have visited the hospital to inquire about his well-being. Further details regarding the nature of his illness have not been disclosed officially.
Praveen Sood, an IPS officer of the 1986 Batch (Karnataka Cadre), before joining the CBI, served as Director General of Police, Karnataka.
