2015 cash-for-vote case: Nampally court adjourns hearing till Dec 16
Hyderabad: The Nampally Metropolitan Sessions Court has adjourned the hearing in the 2015 cash-for-vote case after the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy failed to appear before the court on Thursday. He is an accused in the cash-for-vote case. The court posted the matter for hearing on December 16.
Revanth Reddy, when he was a member of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau for allegedly bribing a nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson in lieu of his vote for a TDP candidate Vem Narender Reddy in the 2015 Legislative Council elections. Along with Revanth Reddy, the ACB officials arrested his associates Uday Simha, Harry Sebastian and Sandra Venkata Veeraiah in the case.
While Uday Simha, Harry Sebastian, and Sandra Venkata Veeraiah attended the court hearing, Revanth Reddy and co-accused Vem Krishna Keertan skipped it.
Earlier, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Guntakandla Jagadish Reddy had filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking the transfer of the trial from Telangana to Madhya Pradesh. However, the court refused to transfer the trial and directed Revanth Reddy not to interfere in any way with the functioning of the prosecution in the case.
