Car crashes into metro pillar in Jubilee Hills
Hyderabad: A person was injured in a car accident that occurred on the morning of Monday, March 17, 2025, at Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. The car, traveling from Krishna Nagar towards the Jubilee Hills check post, lost control and crashed into a median before veering onto the opposite side of the road. The vehicle finally came to a halt after crossing into oncoming traffic.
The incident caused a traffic jam on the busy road, and passersby rushed to the scene upon hearing the loud crash. Local authorities from the Jubilee Hills police station have launched an investigation into the incident. The driver, who fled the scene after the crash, is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
This accident follows a string of fatal road incidents in the city. On March 7, 2025, a 19-year-old man, Kanishk Reddy, was killed in a collision on the Outer Ring Road near Gollapalli Kalan when the car he was in crashed into a lorry. Reddy, grandson of Teegala Krishna Reddy and son of former BRS corporator Teegala Sunaritha Reddy, succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital.
Earlier, on January 31, 2025, Dr. Jaswanth, a house surgeon at Kamineni Hospital, died in a crash near Khanapur. His colleague, Dr. Bhumika, who was in the car with him, also died from her injuries. In a similar fatal incident on September 30, 2024, Dr. Nilay Reddy, a 29-year-old specialist, died after his car collided with a road divider on the ORR near Himayath Sagar.
Other tragic incidents include the deaths of Raga Jyothi, a 32-year-old woman struck by a lorry while crossing the road in Medchal on September 21, 2024, and Neeta, a woman from Nacharam, who was killed in a similar accident just days earlier on September 18, 2024.
