B.Tech student dies from heart attack while playing cricket in Medchal
Hyderabad: A B.Tech student tragically collapsed and died of a heart attack while playing cricket in Medchal on April 4, 2025.
The deceased has been identified as Vinay, a student at CMR College, who was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead upon arrival. The incident occurred on the college premises, leaving his friends and peers in shock.
This incident has raised concerns among the youth, with some speculating on social media that physical exertion during the summer months, even among those vaccinated for COVID-19, could pose health risks.
In other recent heart attack incidents in the city, Venkat Ramana, a senior lawyer, died after collapsing at an Indian Bank branch in Secunderabad on February 19, 2025. Bank staff and customers attempted to help, but he was declared dead at the hospital.
The day before, on February 18, 2025, another senior advocate, P. Venugopal Rao, suffered a heart attack while attending a hearing at the Telangana High Court. Despite efforts to assist him, he passed away shortly after being rushed to the hospital.
On November 11, 2024, Vishnuvardhan, a 31-year-old man, died of a heart attack while circumambulating the Anjaneyaswamy Temple in KPHB, Hyderabad. Efforts to revive him on-site were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead.
Earlier incidents also include a taxi driver who died from a heart attack while on duty at midnight on October 4, 2024, and Kalal Praveen Goud, who collapsed and died while shopping at a Jockey showroom near Pragathi Nagar in Kukatpally on October 2, 2024.
In another case, Shyam Prasad, a software engineer, suffered a heart attack after participating in Ganesh Utsav celebrations in Manikonda on September 15, 2024.
These incidents have raised concerns about sudden cardiac events among individuals, highlighting the importance of health awareness and precautionary measures.
