BRSV State Secretary Nagaram Prashanth arrested for extortion attempt in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Nagaram Prashanth, State Secretary of the BRSV (BRS Students’ Wing), was arrested by Narsingi police on November 27, 2024, in connection with an extortion case.

Nagaram Prashanth, who is pursuing his MA 1st year in Public Administration at Arts College, resides in Room No. 100 at the Yamuna New PG Hostel.

According to reports, the arrest followed a complaint filed on November 16, 2024, by the manager of a well-known engineering college located in Kokapet.

In the complaint, the manager accused Prashanth of repeatedly harassing, threatening, and abusing him. The accused allegedly made unlawful demands for student admissions and sought monetary benefits in return.

Despite the manager's refusal to comply, Prashanth reportedly continued his harassment by visiting the college and making threatening phone calls.

The Narsingi police apprehended Prashanth at around 11:00 p.m. on November 27, 2024, near the Film Nagar Police Station. He was subsequently produced before the Rajendranagar court for judicial remand. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
