Hyderabad: In an emotional and explosive press conference after Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) suspended MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha, she launched a blistering attack on her cousins, former Irrrigation Minister, T Harish Rao and Former MP, J Santosh Kumar, accusing them of a deep-rooted conspiracy to break the KCR family and destabilize the party. Further, Kavitha informed that she is submitting her resignation to the MLC and BRS party membership in a formal manner on Wednesday.

The daughter of BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, Kavitha made a series of sensational allegations, painting a picture of intense internal sabotage and financial malfeasance within the party's top ranks.

Core Allegations: ‘Conspiracy’ to break the family

Kavitha claimed the conspiracy against her and her family was hatched during a flight journey between Hyderabad and Delhi involving Harish Rao and the current Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. “When both of you were going from Hyderabad to Delhi, the seeds of conspiracies were planted against me,” she alleged, directly challenging both leaders to deny her claim.

She further accused Harish Rao of having a long-standing relationship with Revanth Reddy and recalled Harish Rao's alleged past dealings with the late Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

Financial corruption and MLA poaching allegations

Kavitha levelled serious corruption charges against both leaders. She questioned the source of Harish Rao's wealth, asking, “Where did all the money from Harish Rao come from to buy MLAs and keep them with him?”.

She specifically referenced a 2018 incident where she claimed Harish Rao sent Rs 60 lakh to ensure the defeat of her brother, KTR, in the Sircilla elections. She also implicated Harish Rao in the Kaleshwaram project irregularities.

Turning to Santosh Kumar, she accused him of amassing wealth through corrupt practices. She linked him to his classmate, Pochampally Srinivas Reddy, and a massive Rs 700 crore villa project in Mokila, insinuating that the money was sourced from Santosh Kumar. “Santosh's thirst for money knows no bounds,” she declared.

Plea to KCR

Throughout the conference, Kavitha repeatedly appealed to her father, KCR, and brother, KTR (the party's working president), to be cautious. She warned that the same forces that conspired against her could target them next.

Expressing her disappointment, she said, “I told him that there was a conspiracy against me from the party office. But I didn't get a response from my brother KTR, who is also the BRS working president.” She insisted that the party would only survive if elements like Harish and Santosh were sidelined.
