BRS suspends MLC K. Kavitha for anti-party activities
Hyderabad: A day after the daughter of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) supremo K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and former MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha publicly accused BRS senior leader and former Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and former MP J Santosh of corruption in the Kaleshwaram project, the BRS party suspended K Kavitha on Tuesday.
The suspension order was formally issued by the party's disciplinary affairs authority. Soma Bharat Kumar, General Secretary and Party Disciplinary Affairs Officer of the Telangana Samithi, and General Secretary T. Ravinder Rao confirmed the strong action by Party President K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
In a press conference on Monday, K Kavitha alleged that Harish Rao's actions had left ‘corruption stains’ on former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. Further, Kavitha said, “Harish Rao's role in Kaleshwaram corruption is clear. They committed corruption for their own selfish interests. That's why he was removed as irrigation minister in the second term.”
Kavitha claimed that KCR's reputation was tarnished due to the actions of Harish Rao and another leader, Santosh. “KCR has got corruption stains because of T Harish Rao and J Santosh,” she alleged.
“CBI inquiry has been launched against my father. My stomach is burning,” Kavitha expressed, revealing personal anguish over the political crisis. She vehemently defended her father's legacy, stating, “KCR has given the people of Telangana inexhaustible wealth for generations. KCR has no need for food or money.”
