Hyderabad: Days after the BRS leader Manne Krishank refused to comply with the notice of Singapore-based consultancy firm Meinhardt, his party’s Legal Cell has responded to the legal notices of the firm which has won the consultancy contract of the Musi Riverfront Development Project in Hyderabad.

Responding on behalf of Manne Krishank, the BRS Social Media Convener, BRS Legal Cell pointed out that Meinhardt’s management had previously met with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in his office, raising concerns over the company being awarded the contract despite violating tender norms. It was highlighted that even though other companies had submitted lower bids, the contract was suspiciously awarded to Meinhardt.

The allegations made by Krishank, which include the company facing an Interpol Red Notice from Pakistan, being blacklisted by the Jharkhand government, and banned by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), were all based on facts, the BRS Legal Cell asserted.

The unambiguous response firmly stated that Krishank will neither apologize nor remove his tweets, as Meinhardt has acknowledged the existence of these cases in its legal notices. The BRS Legal Cell emphasized that the Musi River contract involves public funds, and as a responsible leader and social media convener of a major opposition party in Telangana, Krishank has the right and duty to question such contracts. The legal cell concluded by stating that attempts to intimidate Krishank through legal notices would not succeed, and the BRS Legal Cell is prepared to fight the matter in court if necessary.

The issue stems from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s public announcement of a Rs. 1.5 lakh crore project for the beautification of the Musi River, which Meinhardt allegedly secured through questionable means. A couple of weeks ago, Krishank responded to the legal notices of Meinhardt and stated that he will not delete his posts in reference to the consultancy from the microblogging platform ‘X’ and added that the BRS Legal Cell would respond to the notices.
