BRS MLC Kavitha blames party insiders for leak of private letter to KCR
Hyderabad: BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha, daughter of party chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), broke her silence on Friday night over the internal discord within the party, speaking to reporters shortly after landing in Hyderabad.
Addressing the media at the Hyderabad Airport arrival hall, Kavitha confirmed that a private letter she had written to her father two weeks ago was leaked. “I wrote the letter before leaving for my son’s graduation ceremony in the US. I found out it was leaked only after I returned to India,” she said.
Kavitha said this was not the first time she had written to KCR to raise internal concerns. “Whenever I felt the need, I wrote to him. What I said in this letter reflects what many in Telangana are quietly feeling,” she added.
She did not name anyone but suggested that individuals close to KCR were responsible for the leak. “Now I’m being treated like an outsider. Who leaked the letter? Who benefits from creating unrest in the party?” she asked.
Calling the leak a betrayal, Kavitha warned that it was being exploited by opposition parties. “Congress and BJP are using this for their gain. We shouldn’t hand them our internal matters,” she said. Despite the controversy, Kavitha reaffirmed her support for KCR. “Telangana has progressed under KCR. We’ve made mistakes, but they can only be corrected through open and fearless dialogue,” she said.
She clarified that the letter was not driven by personal motives and called for an internal inquiry. “The leak came from within. We need to know who is behind it,” she said. Kavitha concluded by saying, “KCR is like God to us. But some of those around him are creating division. Our family and the party remain united. There is no alternative to KCR’s leadership.”
