Police said the suspects entered the college office after staff left in the evening. They broke the door lock, opened the safe lockers, and escaped with the cash that belonged to three colleges under the Brilliant Group.

Investigators said the robbers also stole the digital video recorder (DVR) connected to nearly 200 CCTV cameras installed on the campus to destroy potential evidence.

Inside knowledge suspected

Preliminary investigation suggests that the culprits had detailed information about the location of the lockers and DVR. Police believe the theft was planned meticulously by someone familiar with the college’s internal operations.

“It is clear the thieves knew where the money was kept and where the DVR was located,” an officer said. “The operation required precise knowledge of the premises.”

Police have registered a case based on a complaint from the college management and have begun questioning staff as part of the probe.
