Blatant food safety violations found at Secunderabad eatery
Hyderabad: The Task Force team of the Commissioner of Food Safety, Telangana inspected the kitchen of Blue Sea Tea and Snacks at Regimental Bazar in Secunderabad on Sunday.
The task force officials found unhygienic conditions, lack of ventilation, presence of cockroaches in the cooking area and other violations during the inspections.
The food inspectors found that the eatery did not display the applicable license at the premises. The management failed to show the medical fitness certificates and Fostoc training certificates to the inspectors.
The kitchen area was too small for the staff and unhygienic. They also found that due to the unhygienic conditions, cockroaches and rats were seen moving around the kitchen.
The restaurant had no proper dustbins to get rid of the trash. The walls of the cooking area were found to be patchy and covered with spillage.
The food safety authorities have been conducting inspections at various eateries for a few weeks. The officials have found several of them violating the rules by using the expired food items and also operating the places under unhygienic conditions
Sree Sai Balaji Foods
At Sree Sai Balaji Foods, the food safety officials found the unhygienic conditions in the kitchen. The floor was found littered with food waste. No separate storage facility was found for stocking the veg and non-veg items. Several rotten lemons were found stored in the kitchen. There were no labels on food items like buns, tea powder and biryani masala. The refrigerators were dirty and found littered with food waste.
