Hyderabad: Biker dies in road accident as traffic cop tries to stop him at Balanagar

Hyderabad: Traffic policing turned tragic when a man died after he fell on the road and was run over by an RTC bus in Balanagar on Sunday. The victim has been identified as Babu.

According to the available information, the victim, in his late 20s, was riding a motorcycle when a traffic constable posted there attempted to stop the rider. When the rider applied the brakes, an RTC bus coming from behind ran over the biker and he died on the spot.

The unfortunate incident enraged the public, who tried to assault the traffic policeman. The ensuing commotion caused a huge traffic jam on the busy Jeedimetla–Bala Nagar road. Subsequently, the police resorted to a lathicharge to disperse the crowd and clear the road for the smooth movement of traffic.

As people refused to leave, additional forces were sent to the spot to maintain law and order.
