Bigg Boss Telugu contestant Shekar Basha arrested

Hyderabad: Bigg Boss season 8 contestant RK Shekar Basha was arrested on Friday night by the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police in connection with his derogatory remarks in YouTuber Harsha Sai's harassment case.

A 25-year-old actress from Mumbai had filed a complaint with the cybercrime police department stating the popular host had made some adverse comments against her during an interview with a YouTube channel.

Shekar is a quite popular radio jockey and television host in Telugu showbiz. He began his career as an RJ with BIG FM 92.7 Hyderabad. He was also awarded India's most prestigious award for a radio jockey "RJ of the Year 2019".

Earlier, the Narsingi police had registered a case under relevant IPC sections against YouTuber Harsha Sai after the actress alleged that he raped her in 2023 on false pretext of marriage. She has also accused him of clicking nude photos of her and later started 'blackmailing' her for money. Previously, She had worked with Sai in a TV reality show. She has also played a female lead against Sai in a movie.
