Hyderabad: The sleuths of Begumpet Police, North Zone, successfully apprehended three individuals involved in a bag-snatching incident near Anand Theater bus stop in Secunderabad, seizing Rs. 2,00,000 in cash. The case was registered under Section 304 of the BNS Act.

The accused have been identified as Bandaripally Sairam (23), a printing worker from Rasoolpura, Begumpet; Moram Shetty Srihari (23), a delivery boy from Chilkanagar, Uppal; and Chavan Lokesh (18), also a delivery boy from Chilkanagar, Uppal.

The incident took place within the Begumpet Police jurisdiction when the accused planned and executed a bag-snatching operation. Sairam, who runs a T-stall business, informed his friends, Lokesh and Srihari, about a money bag containing Rs. 2,13,000, which was being carried by an employee of Kumar Velu Brothers, a nearby office, to deposit at COSMO Bank on James Street, M.G. Road, Secunderabad.

According to the investigation, Sairam instructed his friends to follow the complainant, who was carrying the money bag. The accused followed the victim on an unregistered two-wheeler and, with their faces covered by masks, waited at the Anand Theater bus stop. At around 11:40 a.m., the accused snatched the bag containing the money and fled the scene.

Based on the complaint, Begumpet Police apprehended the trio and seized the following items, an unregistered Activa scooter, Rs. 2,00,000 in cash, three mobile phones, and the snatched bag.

The case is currently under investigation. The arrest was made by Detective Inspector A. Madhusudhan Reddy, Begumpet Police, under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Police P. Gopal Krishna Murthy and the guidance of D.C.P. North Zone S. Rashmi Perumal, IPS, and Additional D.C.P. North Zone P. Ashok.
