Hyderabad: Residents living in and around Laxmi Nivas and Maruthi Arcade near Shyamlal Building, Begumpet, have raised multiple civic complaints, alleging inaction from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) despite repeated reports. The issues, they say, are affecting accessibility, hygiene, and public safety.

The complaints were highlighted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by Tata Rakesh (@imtatarakesh), who posted images and details of the situation. In his post, he wrote, “Urgent: Begumpet (Laxmi Nivas & Maruthi Arcade) – Illegal waste dumping, constant water flow from a unit, & blocked car entries due to resident parking. Reported multiple times, no action. Safety at risk! Photos attached. Act now! #GHMC @GHMCOnline @CommissionrGHMC.”

According to residents, construction waste and cement mixing debris are being illegally dumped in front of the buildings, blocking parts of the public road and creating hazards for pedestrians and vehicles. The debris has reportedly been accumulating over time, with no visible cleanup or enforcement by authorities.

Another major issue is the continuous flow of water from a unit in one of the buildings. The outflow has caused water to accumulate on the road, leading to muddy, slippery conditions. Locals say this has increased the risk of falling, skidding, mosquito breeding, and water contamination.

In addition, improper parking by residents is obstructing both main car entry points to Laxmi Nivas and Maruthi Arcade. Public parking areas are being encroached upon, making it difficult for visitors and emergency vehicles to access the premises.

Residents claim these problems have been brought to the attention of GHMC multiple times, but no action has followed. They are now appealing directly to the GHMC Commissioner and concerned officials to inspect the area and take immediate corrective steps.
