Debris left after cable work at KIMS Begumpet irks pedestrians
Hyderabad: Pedestrians near KIMS Hospital in Begumpet have raised concerns over unattended debris left behind after recent cable work. The dug-up footpath, strewn with rubble, is causing difficulty for those walking in the area.
A user identified as Rusty (@Rusty_2001) flagged the issue on X (formerly Twitter), stating, "Cable work done but digging left unattended at KIMS Begumpet causing inconvenience to pedestrians as footpath has debris."
In response, the official handle of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), @GHMCOnline, replied, "Dear citizen, the issue has been brought to the notice of the @BegumpetDC @EE_Begumpet." However, residents are still waiting for a solution.

Meanwhile, GHMC Commissioner R. V. Karnan inspected ongoing infrastructure work, including the Phase-2 Shilpa Layout flyover from Gachibowli to Kondapur. He instructed officials to complete the project by the end of the month. Engineers reported that service road construction would proceed after land acquisition is finalized.
The Commissioner also visited the proposed flyover and underpass site at Khajaguda junction under the H-City project. At Malkam Cheruvu, he addressed complaints from walkers about sanitation issues and stray dogs, directing officials to take immediate action.
He also reviewed the source of stormwater entering the lake, which was reported to be from Durgam Cheruvu and nearby residential areas, and ordered necessary steps to prevent further inflow.
The inspection was attended by Deputy Commissioner Prashanthi, SE Shankar, and other officials.
