Hyderabad: Fire breaks out at Begumbazar jewellery shop

HYDERABAD: A major fire broke out at the Kanishk’s One Gram Gold Jewellery shop in Begumbazar on Thursday night.

Shop closed for Dasara, major tragedy averted

As the shop was closed for the Dasara festival, no customers or staff were present, preventing a major tragedy. The fire started on the first floor, prompting locals to alert the fire department. Firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the flames using three fire engines. Gold ornaments and other valuables were destroyed in the blaze, resulting in heavy losses, officials said. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Officials are verifying whether there was any loss of life.
