Guinness World Records for Bathukamma event in Saroor Nagar

HYDERABAD: Minister Jupally Krishna Rao congratulated everyone who contributed to securing the Guinness World Records for the Bathukamma celebrations.

He said Bathukamma should bring joy, unity and brotherhood to every home, village and doorstep across Telangana. He prayed to the goddess Bathukamma to bless the people of the state with health, peace and long life.

Minister extends festival greetings

The minister conveyed greetings to the people of Telangana on the occasion of Saddula Bathukamma and Dasara festivals. At the Saroor Nagar Stadium, folk singer Vimala and playback singer Geetha Madhuri energised the celebrations with Bathukamma songs. The mega Bathukamma grand event entered the Guinness Book of World Records.

Two Guinness World Records set

The first record was for the largest Bathukamma, decorated with 7,000 tonnes of flowers, measuring 11 feet wide and 63 feet high. The second record was for the largest gathering of women singing Bathukamma songs in rhythm and dancing together.
