Hyderabad: Balanagar Police have arrested an individual in connection with a POCSO case, two years after the alleged crime. Robinson D. Cornell, 25, was apprehended through Call Detail Record (CDR) analysis while visiting his grandmother at a Secunderabad hospital on May 21, 2025, at 8:10 PM.
The case dates back to May 23, 2023, when the father of an 11-year-old girl, a resident of Balanagar, filed a complaint. He stated his daughter, who had just completed 5th standard, met Robinson D. Cornell, 23 at the time, of Vinayak Nagar, Balanagar, during her summer holidays in April 2023.
According to the complaint, Robinson initially engaged the victim in casual conversations, gaining her trust. He later complimented her and discussed plans to go out. He allegedly used a neighbor to facilitate communication and convinced the victim to elope, suggesting she take money from home.
On May 22, 2023, at 8:00 PM, Robinson reportedly instructed the victim to leave her home at 1:00 AM with cash, clothes, and her mother’s phone. Following his directions, she packed her school bag, took Rs. 30,000 from her mother's box, and left as scheduled. At 2:00 AM, Robinson messaged her, luring her out. He then took her to Secunderabad railway station, where they boarded a train to Visakhapatnam. In Visakhapatnam, Robinson took the victim to an acquaintance's house, where an unidentified elder man was present. The complaint alleges he confined her for two days and forcibly raped her twice, causing physical injuries and bleeding.
Realizing they were unsupervised, Robinson decided to return. On May 29, 2023, they traveled back to Secunderabad by train. At the station, Robinson reportedly asked her to wait while he fetched water, but then fled. The victim borrowed a stranger's phone to call her father, who rescued her and subsequently reported the incident to the police.
