Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna advocates Bharat Ratna for NTR

Hyderabad: Tollywood actor and Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna publicly requested the Bharat Ratna for his father, N.T. Rama Rao (NTR), a former Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh and a Tollywood actor. He made this request during a meeting with Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Sunday.

Balakrishna made these comments in the presence of Union Minister Kishan Reddy who visited him to congratulate for being conferred with Padma Bhushan award.Kishan Reddy highlighted Balakrishna's many contributions. He focused on Balakrishna's film success, especially his great role in "Lava Kusa" when he was young.

The Union Minister praised Balakrishna's work in many areas. He also mentioned Balakrishna's humanitarian efforts as the Chairman of Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital and treating cancer patients over the past fifteen years.

Reddy, on behalf of the BJP and the Central Government, congratulated Balakrishna for his exceptional service and recent Padma Bhushan award.
