At Bakoban Hospital, a large quantity of Fentanyl Citrate Injections (50 mcg/ml, 2 ml ampoules) was seized, with a total of 47 ampoules recovered. The narcotics were found to be illegally stocked for sale without the required NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) license. The drugs were seized from the possession of Abdul Rahman, the owner of Bakoban Hospital.

At BVK Reddy Hospital, officials found the following drugs:

Fentanyl Citrate Injections (50 mcg/ml, 2 ml ampoules) – 21 ampoules
Ketamine Hydrochloride Injections (50 mg/ml, 5 ml vials) – 9 vials
Midazolam Injections (1 mg/ml, 10 ml vials) – 2 vials of Mezolam Injections

The narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances were found in the possession of T. Naresh Kumar from BVK Reddy Hospital.

Following the seizures, cases were registered under the NDPS Act at the Charminar and Musheerabad Prohibition & Excise Stations against the accused individuals.

Advisory to Private Hospitals:

The Drugs Control Administration has issued an advisory urging private hospitals to obtain the necessary NDPS licenses (NDPS Form-II) to purchase and administer narcotic drugs for medical purposes legally. Hospitals must also secure a Certificate of Recognition (Form 3G) if they need to use essential narcotic drugs.

Unlicensed possession, purchase, or sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances is a serious offense under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1985 and poses significant health risks, including addiction, respiratory depression, overdose, and death.

V.B. Kamalasan Reddy, Director General of the Drugs Control Administration and Director of Prohibition & Excise urged the public to report any illegal drug-related activities to the Drugs Control Administration's toll-free number, 1800-599-6969, which is operational from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday to Friday).
